Construction
Built for dependability and bare-minimum maintenance, Peerless' PowerFixed 2000 BI/BC series combines heavy-duty fabrication techniques with advanced engineering design for medium and high-pressure applications.
BI and BC Designations
The BI and BC designations both refer to flat blade, backward inclined, belt drive assemblies. The BI range offers small, lower pressure versions, while the BC range provides higher volume, higher pressure performance.
Wheel
Peerless' highly efficient flat blade wheel uses die-cut blades that are fully welded to a spun wheel cone, balanced against a CNC laser-cut backplate and cast-iron hub.
Inlet
For low-turbulence inlet airflow and balanced rotation, our inlet cones are stamped or rolled from single sheets, free of seams and welds.
Frame
Indoor/outdoor, open-member steel frames keep motors, drivetrains, and wheels in alignment longer than formed sheet frames, resulting in longer maintenance intervals.
Housing
All fan housings can be fully rotated to reposition the discharge at any of eight pre-drilled 45° intervals, allowing for a wide range of installation and ducting configurations.
Drive System
The Backward Inclined Fan series features a V-Belt drive with cast iron adjustable pitch sheaves, heavy-duty motor base rails, ground and polished keyed shafts, and self-aligning normal duty bearings.

Arrangements
Peerless' PowerFixed 2000 BI/BC series is available in Arrangement 1, 3, 8, 9 and 10 SWSI, and Arrangement 3 DWDI.
Arrangement 1 SWSI
AMCA Arrangement 1 SWSI features dual bearings mounted on a base frame, with an overhung fan impeller for use with belt or direct drives. For belt drive configurations, motor positions W, X, Y, and Z are available. Motor supports can be provided in the field or at the factory.
Arrangement 3 SWSI
AMCA Arrangement 3 SWSI utilizes one bearing on either side of the fan impeller (two bearings total), for use with belt or direct drives. For belt drive configurations, motor positions W, X, Y, and Z are available. Motor supports can be provided in the field or at the factory.
Arrangement 8 SWSI
AMCA Arrangement 8 SWSI is comparable to Arrangement 1, however adds a separate motor pedestal at the end of the impeller shaft, allowing for a direct drive installation coupled with dual external bearings.
Arrangement 9 SWSI
AMCA Arrangement 9 SWSI utilizes dual bearings mounted on a base frame, with an overhung fan impeller for use with belt drives. The motor is mounted outside of the frame or pedestal.
Arrangement 10 SWSI
AMCA Arrangement 10 SWSI features a space-efficient, packaged design with an onboard motor mounted within the fan's bearing pedestal.
Arrangement 3 DWDI
AMCA Arrangement 3 DWDI uses a dual-width impeller setup with one bearing on either side of the fan impeller pair (two bearings total), for use with belt or direct drives. For belt drive configurations, motor positions W, X, Y, and Z are available. Motor supports can be provided in the field or at the factory.

Options
Safety, performance, and maintenance can all be improved with the below options available on the Peerless PowerFixed 2000 BI/BC series.
Radial Inlet Vane
Radial Inlet Vanes smooth airflow turbulence, reduce noise, and improve fan performance. Duct-type vanes can be provided for all sizes.
Safety Screen
For applications where either the inlet or outlet are not ducted away, a Safety Screen constructed of heavy gauge metal wire mesh can be added to protect against objects entering the housing.
Belt Guard
Our heavy-duty Belt Guard is fabricated from expanded metal and installed over the V-belt drive end of the fan, providing personnel protection from the drive's moving parts.
Outlet Damper
Protecting the fan from backdrafts, rain and snow, our corrosion-resistant Outlet Damper securely attaches to the fan outlet. Outlet Dampers are not available with mesh screens.
Access Doors
For easy inspection and cleaning, bolted Access Doors can be provided around the perimeter of the fan housing. Our gasketed doors can be provided with bolted or quick-release clamp hardware.
Heat Slinger
At temperatures above 250°F, a Heat Slinger can be added to dissipate heat transmitted through the impeller shaft, protecting bearings from overheating.
Spark Resistance
For applications where hazardous gases or other ignitable conditions exist, Peerless offers fully Spark-Resistant Construction and explosion-proof motors per AMCA Spark A, B, and C hazard classifications.
Motors
Peerless can provide nearly any special motor specification, including multi-speed windings, stainless steel casings, washdown and other environmental ratings, inverter duty, explosion proof, IEC and other frame sizes, and more.
Other Accessories
Additional Peerless Backward Inclined Fan accessories include drain fittings, flanged inlet and outlet connections, and multiple paint and coating finish options.
